Joyshop 2 : Emotional Intelligence

“ Dil Se ’’“ Thousands of emotions well up inside me , they are released when I dance”

Challenges

The effectiveness of a person is largely dependent on being able to drive emotions in the right direction to create better results. Therefore, Emotional Intelligence (EI) competencies are critical and are strong drivers of our performance.
.
Charles Darwin has shared, 3 most challenging emotions of a human being are fear, anger, and sadness.

  • The need to be successful, proving one’s identity, tough deadlines, taking a tough decision, giving tough feedback to an employee, and challenging assignments makes one feel anxious.
  • Mismatch expectations with the boss, with peers, and team members can make one feel sad, no promotion, less rating than expected, not getting a meaty project, one can feel low.
  • To have the wisdom to understand the trigger of anger is critical
  • On the personal front too, taking care of old parents, children's responsibility, keeping up with social needs puts stress and tension, one needs to vent out to relax, and stay calm.

Methodology

Core is expressing your feelings through the body. Being able to feel in the moment, and release frustrations, it’s a creative way to heal, it taps into their authentic self, it can reach people in a more profound way than talking does, every movement is connected to an emotion or a memory, its sparking that emotional vitality.

Benefits of EI through creative movement

  • The good news is - E.I. competencies can be learnt, although with time and commitment.

  • Through movement will be able to conquer fear, and remove inhibitions. Realize fear is false experiences appearing real.

  • Will understand your personal triggers of anger; and how to positively channelize; will transform anger through movement rather than suppress.

  • Will find solace in crying, by sharing, and releasing pain. We will use Kinesthetic Empathy, perform an action with another human being; a connection is built that is more profound than verbally sharing.

  • Movement makes the body feel good; the mood changes.

  • "The physical and emotive states are interconnected; we can change the emotive state to a more centred space by moving the body”
